Things to eat in dieting!

Fruit Salad

The most common snack when reducing weight is a bowl of fruit salad, which is not only tasty but a healthy option. You can have a nutritious treat by eating a mix of fruits such as pineapple, orange, kiwi, strawberries, grapes, melons, apple, pears in a single bowl.  Making a fruit salad bowl takes less than 5 minutes. Peel, cube all the fruits that catch your eye in the refrigerator (barring mangoes and bananas as they are high in their caloric value) and toss them in a bowl. Add a dash of lemon juice or half a teaspoon of honey. Mix it well so that all the flavors are coated well. And your super juicy fruit salad packed with diverse flavors and colors is ready! Just dig in.


Low fat Cottage Cheese and Apples
Cottage cheese (paneer) is always associated with fat but did you know that cottage cheese when made out of skimmed milk is not at all fattening? In fact, this combination is rich in calcium and magnesium that, when consumed together, is very good for bones. The salty taste of cheese and the sweet taste of apple keeps boredom of snacking, when on weight loss diet, at bay. Add some leafy greens, sprinkle cinnamon powder along with dry fruits & enhance the flavor. This snack can be a substitute for full meal and adds to the feeling of fullness, thus preventing you to binge.

Beans Salad

High in proteins and low in carbohydrates, the bean salad is a meal in itself. Combination of red kidney beans, black beans and black-eyed beans stay longer in the digestive system, thus giving a feeling of fullness. They contain fat-burning carbohydrate called resistant starch. Black bean is considered one of the best weight loss foods. As per the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey program of the US government, bean eaters may be slimmer with flatter stomach. The bean salad is very easy to cook. Here’s how - pressure-cook beans and add finely-sliced spring onions, ginger, garlic, and add juice of half a lime. Sprinkle some black pepper and salt, and season with some coriander leaves.


Nuts delight

Did you know that consuming about a quarter-cup of nuts enables weight reduction more effectively than a snack made of carbohydrates? So go nuts! Have a mixture of Walnuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts, and cashews. You may have them raw or roasted. It is a good source of minerals and vitamins and also makes you feel fuller so the yearning to binge is significantly reduced.


Quinoa

High in protein, Quinoa is one most popular health foods containing a whole lot of minerals, vitamins and several beneficial antioxidants. Quinoa aids weight loss as it increases the metabolism and reduces the appetite significantly. It is easy to cook and delicious to eat. The nutty flavored quinoa can be cooked similar to rice pulao – with vegetables or meat. It needs to be washed thoroughly as the seed coating (saponins) needs to be removed for it produces a slightly bitter taste.


Roasted Chana
Best snack for quick refueling of your body. It can be eaten as a snack or is good to keep munching during the free time or while enjoying a movie. It has no fat, and is easily available in the market. Dried chickpeas or chana is very filling and is easily digestible.

So now snacking while losing weight is no more cheating, and dieting is no more starving!
